About the Fund
The National Drug Law Enforcement Research Fund was established
by the Ministerial Council on Drug Strategy (MCDS) on
10 June 1999 and commenced operations in August 1999. This Fund incorporates
both the National Drug Crime Prevention Fund (NDCPF) and the National Community
Based Approach to Drug Law Enforcement (NCBADLE).
The Fund functions within the broader context provided by the National Drug Strategic Framework.
The Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing funds
the NDLERF as part of its commitment to the National Drug Strategy.
